It's alive! It's alive!

Well, five days late but stoptheban.ca is finally fully functional. Now let the count begin. We've likely lost a little momentum but hopefully next week will get the traffic back and begin the active word of mouth. Many thanks to the magnificent and overworked team who pulled the programming together. Without them, there would be no clout. Months in the making, this site could potentially pack the punch to bring an end to this particularly bad law. All week, I've felt like a mother hen on the nest. At least now the eggs have hatched. Here we go...

Thanks to all involved for getting the stoptheban site up and running. I am so inspired by the passion and determination of all of us fighting this pathetic legislation - let's stick together. I'll be referring a lot of supporters to this site. Thanks again.

stop the ban, protect the breed. did you know if a deliveryperson, mail personal, UPS, repair personal, enters your home without knocking and startles your bully breed, your dog will be euthanized?

They are not even safe if thier own homes.
A delivery person from the GRD drug store on keele st in toronto walked in to a home on december 2 2008. they knew there were dogs in the owners home. they knew there were signs everywhere. They stated over the years they were terrified of all dogs, yet on that fateful day, they opened and entered not one but several doors in the owners home. the staff/pit was playing with its 2 yr old human charge and thought the stranger was there to do harm. The dog nipped the person and chased them from the home. the person who was nipped did not receive stitches, or any other emergency cae. They went on Workmans comp and the person still as to my knowledge. The Pitbull named brutus who was 13 yrs old was ordered to be taken to the shelter for quarantine as a result of the ban. once thiere and in the custody of the shelter, the owner was notified the dog would be euthanized. the two year old is still mourning her friend. The other dog in the home, a 3 yr old german shep, is still mourning her friend and the humanes who lived with the dog were furious that the delivery person not only thinks its a joke, but the person is working, collecting workman comp and trying to sue them. Their only worry is the loss of their loyal family member and that the law states that anyone can enter your home and if a pitbull lives there and nips, it will be euthanized.
This can not continue. if we do not talk for the dogs, who will?
